FSK – I Wish I Could Sprechen Sie Deutsch

This would probably only work in somewhere painfully trendy in
Shoreditch, but I can see it being novel/fun if a bar let the
customers choose the music by projecting a collaborative Spotify
playlist on the wall and letting anyone edit it.

Lovely art exhibition in the temple in Nunhead Cemetery

A splendid old-fashioned yarn that isn’t remotely spoiled by having seen any of the movie adaptations.I love the escapism and simplicity, of course, but I particularly enjoy how polite everyone is.

The plot pursued me on our Scottish road trip, with dramatic scenes from Iona to Appin

These were dotted on roads around Sligachan on the Isle of Skye

Attaches itself like an alien. You could see the little squirmy legs 
and everything!

The isle of Mull is utterly beautiful, but the roads are horrific. We
got grounded after hitting a trench-like pothole. Luckily we got towed
out by a passing Land Rover.

Got the damaged assessed in Tobermory and luckily all seems ok.

If someone you’re with gets a bout of hiccups, just ask them “quick –
what’s 34 times 14?”

Unexpected mental arithmetic normally stops it dead.

And it doesn’t involve spilling water everywhere.

I start every holiday with the new Lee Child book. The Die Hard-esque plots are reassuringly familiar and well-written enough to be real page turners
